Information Marketing Is For Everyone
A couple of weeks ago I sat in on a webinar with Bill Glazer as the expert being interviewed.
Bill is partner with Dan kennedy of the Kennedy-Glazer Marketing Company.These guys are who the big dog marketers and companies use to build multimillion and billion dollar businesses.
Bill said everyone could and should be involved in some form of Information Marketing.
Bill came from the retail clothing business which he said his family was involved in for decades.
Bill joined Dan Kennedy in 1996 while still involved with his clothing business but it was not long before he went full time in Information Marketing because there was much more money and leverage compared to the clothing store which he said had no leverage.
That is the first big positive that I understood which is the huge leverage that Information Marketing provides on and offline.I know this because I do both with my business.
If you think about it leverage points are everywhere in IM.
I heard 9 reasons to become involved in Information Marketing and they all are a form of leverage.These reasons are obvious and powerful.
1. There is no overhead.As a traditional business owner this is huge.
ie. My Brother in law Matt does renovations and fixes homes.
The amount of money he spends on his truck and all the off shoots of that is pretty costly.That for him is just the beginning though.He has many tools that are worth $1000 and up for each tool.These have to be maintained regularily.
On top of this he has “0″ leverage; not to mention the physical demands the work puts on him.
As a side note Matt is looking to become a home inspector.That is smart and if he was looking forward he could easily turn that home inspection niche into an Information Marketing business teaching others about home inspections.It’s a perfect and a great example of what I’m writning about.
2. Now using Matt as the example we can see how flexible Information Marketing can be.
So flexibility is reason 2.
3. The information does not go out of date.Now in Matts case there may be some tweeking here and there as technology gets updated, but most homes are around for quite a while.
It’s because the information does not go out of date that you can sell it again and again.Do the work one time and get paid over and over again. That’s leverage.
4. We can make money at will by selling the information over and over.
5. There is no inventory.This is obvious.Most of the information is downloadable right to our computer so free delivery also.
6. Reasons 4 and 5 allow us to set up a website with an autoresponder that works for you selling 24/7/365.
This is really powerful.I use an AR in my business and I am building a list as I sleep.
7.Very small start up fees.My autoresponder costs me $19.00 monthly.Once I insert my letters inside it’s set and forget.This is your sales person touching your cutomers as often as you want.You control what is in the letters.
8. As these letters go out and are read, you position yourself as an authority in your niche which gives you great positioning and credibility as an expert in that area.
9. This is my favorite reason to be in Information Marketing and that is you are always learning because you are always teaching.The teacher becomes the student.
Dan kennedy defines Information Marketing as indentifying a responsive market with a high interest in a particular group of topics or expertise and then package products and information services matching that interest.
This is my business to a tee.We have an online and offline package delivered to your door.
My niche is teaching and helping the masses of new folks searching for ways to make money off or online.My system is based on Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer’s teaching. It is simple enough for my 10 year old daughter to do. Completely genius and allows me to make the most and simplest money in my 53 years.
Information Marketing can be a couple of types of business.It can be a side line as it was for Bill Glazer to start until he was making 10x what his clothing store brought in and then he went full time with Dan kennedy.
So you can make a few hundred dollars or a full time living.Even if you never sell anything with your information business you can still leverage it with your primary business.
Bill recommends if you have a product or service businees to get out of it becasue people see that as a commodity.
Today with our economy as it is many folks are loosing jobs and careers that they have 10,20 30 years of knowledge accumulated.They can take that knowledge and reinvent themselves using information marketing.
I know this for a fact because that’s what I’m doing at 53 years young.
