Fitness,Health and Wellness Takes Discipline

What’s the most important thing in your life?

When I have asked this question to folks over the last few decades I almost always get the same answer.My health of course.

Many  of these folks are also not healthy or they would like to be more healthy.

Why this contridiction in what people actually say and do?

That’s a huge topic that I am not knowledgeable enough to answer.

I do know one thing though like almost anything that is good for you it will take discipline.

I know I hate that word discipline  at times too.

I will put lots of info on my blog in weeks ,months and years to come.I hope to be an example to the over 50 crowd with my common sense approach to my fitness and health and wellness.

Yes I have been blessed with great genetics and a very tall strong body and for that I am thankful; but don’t call me lucky!  I work at it daily.

Staying fit is easy for me because I love it and believe that after 30 years of trying most exercises known to mankind I have the knowledge to show and teach some of the methods I implement daily.

Yes I do something daily.I don’t belong to a gym.That may surprise some folks.

Walking is the bases to all excersice.I walk as much as possible.This keeps my back loose and my blood moving.Common sense folks.

That’s a place to start for those who don’t like to excercise.

Building out from a walk though I have my light stretching or what I call my therapeutic stretching.I use this also the day after my hard core work outs which is usually with my Russian Kettle Bells and dumbbells.

Most 50+ will not do this as it is very tough and recovery is slower because of age.I’ll also talk about recovery and what foods and supplements I use for this.

I really do suggest doing some sort of resistance training as you age.I’ll show many ways to do this without any weights at all.Things I’ve taken from pilates and yoga over the years.Really effective stuff.

We are selective TV watchers.Most folks watch some TV and this is a great hint for those who don’t enjoy workouts. Be an active TV watcher.Stretch while you are watching. I do this.

I’ll skow you some simple effective steps here also.

I bought a really nice bicycle in 07. As with everything I do physically I push myself here too.

My kids are 12 and 9 so staying in shape doing what they like is important such as shooting hoops outside,playing baseball ,jumping around in the few months when our pool is open here in Toronto.

That’s the main reason besides longevity I excercise and stay fit.

Lastly just as important or more important as excersice is controlling what you put into your mouth.

I’ll touch on this also over time because I am a very well versed layman about that topic.
